Yesterday was my mother's birthday and I forgot it, just plain old forgot. How unbelievably awful is that? I've usually got quite a knack for remember things - dates, especially. I've been occupied with other things, granted, but that's hardly an excuse, is it? I don't think she even noticed that I missed it, bless her heart. If there's a silver lining, I guess it's that I've gone ahead and marked my calendar about four months in advance now. I won't forget any birthdays between now and April!
Work is going fine. I've been swamped as of late (hence the forgetting of my own mum's birthday) but I would prefer it busy to slow. Well, that sounds wrong. I don't prefer it busy in the sense that it makes me happy that there's trouble to be tending to, it just makes my day a bit more interesting. Slow days of sitting behind a desk filling out paperwork can get more than dull. I never did have the attention span for something like that.
